    MMA Fight photography

The color pics were taken with last month with a Canon EOS XTi, a week after I bought it. It's my first DSLR. The older pics in b&w were taken with a Sony 717.

I used a 50mm 1.8 lens, and that was a bit of a mistake as there's a 1.6x magnification on the digital Rebels, and that's just too close for most shots. Oh well, live and learn.

I'd think the 50mm would be perfect, but then, yeah right up next to the ring it might be too much. I guess a 28-300 might help a tad, but you'd need flash.

    Re: MMA Fight photography

Actually, I should've used the 18-55mm kit lens I was given. Ideally, as close as I was, a 28mm 2.8 would've been my best bet, except I haven't purchased one as of yet.

Flash... I can't say with 100% certainty, but I think it's a distraction, and I'm creative enough to go without it. I definately could've sacrificed some of the speed I used, and would have seeing as how this particular breed of camera tends to under expose.
