    I'd say you got the timing just about perfect. Can't say I care for the background though. Tough sometimes to make the zoo look always not like a zoo

    Seems your XTi and flash are set for first curtain synch. Might want to set it for 2nd curtain synch and leave it there. This image (and others posted by others) could have benefitted by firing the flash at the end of the exposure instead of at the beginning. Then you would have had a ghosted image leading up to a sharp image instead of the reverse.

    Loupey,

    Thanks very much for the suggetion regarding the flash sync. I have been playing with that since taking this shot. In fact posted shot, New Year's By Night II, is with Second Sync.

    Great idea and I appreciate it very much.

    I concur with the background. Always a tough setting. But, it was fun just the same.
