    Interesting subject!

For me, the missing paint on the leg and top are irritating; I would like to see them patched (although perhaps that is wrong as that is how it is!) as they distract my eye from the interesting image

I might have shot more at eye to eye level with the model and not have cut the "I" off in Icecream. But a great subject...

What a well endowed piece of concrete or wharever we have here and a good subject you have!
It's very busy all round her and I wonder if a selection was made of the background areas and some blur added it might bring some more well deserved emphasis to her ladyship.
A little tight near the left foot perhaps.
I like it though and it's got good humour.

CL - There is a lot happening but I'm not sure that's a disadvantage. I almost wish I could see more of the window above her, it seems to have some interesting stuff happening. I actually find the upper half of the pic more interesting than the bottom. Also, have you tried desaturating it to B&W yet, just to see what you have? Might be worth a try. Or maybe a spot color.

    Re: Carhop

Wow! Excellent ideas and input everybody, thanks!

McPaul - The jury is still out for me on whether cloning a natural defect out of a subject like this is OK. In this case I think you're right and it distracts from my subject. For the sake of argument I have cloned it out on my second color version.

Greg - My second posted version was taken from a lower angle and may be more in line with what you are suggesting.

Tom - I think she is made out of resin. Isn't she grand? That's what I thought when I found her hidden behind the corner of this restaurant. My second image at the different angle solves the crowded skate problem I think. Please let me know you're thoughts. I have also done a spot color on this version per GB's suggestion that may soothe the riot of distractions going on in the glass behind her head.

GB - I've given your suggestion a go please tell me what you think. The altered angle of this second version also gives you a better view of the total reflection in the window. This diner is right across the street from the Corn Palace in Mitchell, South Dakota and what you see are some of the turrets and facades of it reflected in the window.

The b/w background works well here. Forgive me for being a pain in the *** but I fell she could do with some more colour saturation and I would still like all the background blurred somewhat. But her foot is fine. You could even have some more fun here by pasting some silly words on to the board and get away with it!

Is this more of what you were suggesting? I'll forego any messages on her chalk board at this stage in the game but will indulge you on the rest Tom. She looks good like this, thanks!

    Re: Carhop

Thanks for all the great input Tom! My specific reason for posting this was to see if anyone was distracted by the weird reflection in the right top corner. There was a Pepsi machine inside that was showing through and I smeared it out. Since no one mentioned it it must look natural enough at least not to be a distraction.

    Re: Carhop

i personally like the desaturated lower angle. when you blur out the background it loses its conext, and that is what's most interesting about these type of photos.

CL - I like the B&W bckgd. I guess I prefer the duller colors than the bright ones, for it looks more "retro" like that. Like an old, faded photograph.

Can you try posting one of the whole thing desaturated?

I really like what you did to the last one. In my opinion it's the best of the lot. I like the angle and how you handled all of the distractions, Maybe a touch more detail to the pants but a great image. Nice job.

    Re: Carhop

Many thanks for the extended comments. Here is a completely desaturated version per GB's request.

Ooops! Never respond to postings in the middle of New Year's Eve! I completely spaced attaching the image!:blush2:
