I like the colored lights well enough but the colored ornament in her hand doesn't blend in very well plus the shadow from the flash hurts the image a bit-next time bounce flash.

Overall though I think it is pretty good and I do like the crop.

    Hmmmmmmmm.

I like the idea, but the colors are just too saturated. Try desaturating them a little. Or, try working with the original and instead of totally desaturating the background etc, only partially do so (mute the colors a bit).

Almost looks like she's holding a gun to me and saying "Give me the Xmas presents!!!!!"

Also, is her head clipped like that in the original? If not, add it back in. If it is, then I would clip more off because when you're that close to having it all in, but not quite, the perception might be that you made a mistake. Not that you did...... But that might be how folks see it.

Thanks guys for the comments...I take them all to heart and will incorporate these ideas in future shots...yes...I did crop her head in original shot, I kind of wanted the "hey..give me presents" look and point taken on the saturation.

The idea is great, the colors feel live, and specially the way she holded the Daisy on her hand. Selective focus is great here focusing on the girl, color, and toy. I like the expression on her face, looked natural.. not forced for a portrait. great work
