    Unusual squirrel

There's been a gray squirrel visiting my backyard the past couple weeks that has black patches on its body. I know there are some that are totally black, though I've never seen any where i live, but I've never seen one like this before:

It's certainly the most unusual squirrel that I've ever seen, great catch and thanks for posting it.

    Re: Unusual squirrel

Wow it looks at first glance as if the other squirrels had been "barbering" it (where they pick out the fur of one member to lower their pecking order status) but as you look closer you can tell that the fur is smoother and even.

Definitely a cool squirrel... That's one to watch for and keep shooting him. I bet he has a personality to match =)

Ironworker02 - I'm in southeast PA and I've never heard of any being seen here, but maybe you're right. Perhaps they're starting to move into this area...

I haven't seen this guy for a couple days now but I'm keeping an eye out for him.
