Hideta, this has an abstract quality to it from your creative composition of this planes fuselage. The reflection of the warm sky is great. i like the placement of the wing and the tail. this is very good. Good work

What you choose to include in this shot is excellent.
The effect of the early sunrise on the metal is beautiful, bringing out those matt black stain-like marks. Very well seen Loupey.

I agree with Gary, also one of the best aircraft pictures I have seen in a while. Great angle and beautiful lighting. I also agree the reflection is great. I like the way the windows moves your eyes through the picture...

This is the kind of image I like a lot .. it is different, creative, and technically excellent. There isn't a lot to criticise here. Excellent work.

What a bird shot you have here!! Really, really nice. One of the best photos posted here in a long time. Makes me want to look for long moments. I like the reflection, the lines, the color, the detail, composition is very nice... just a great job.

Gentlemen, thanks so much for the kind words. I was worried about the rather shallow DOF, darkness, cool tint, and contrast.

Shot with my wife's Sony T33 point-and-shoot. Lacking any manual controls whatsoever

, I had to hunt around to find the focus and exposure point that I wanted, then recompose and shoot. Still, the shot came out way overexposed, over sharpened, and overly contrasty. I had to bring it down a LOT in post processing to make it look like how I saw it.

For kicks, here is another shot a few minutes later as the sun peeked over the trees.

Oh, why the T33? I hope to post a story of this shot in the Viewfinder Forum shortly. If interested, I will title it, "On Assignment II".

While the second is also nice, it is not in the same league as the first. I'd print and hang that hummer.

Amazing shot, Loupey... not sure it needed an adjustment though, but I do think that that version looks more like what you'd see on a poster (and is therefore more marketable). Morning colors sure are great........

A really good composition, morning colours great, and striking sky too.
I think clouds would have taken away from the simplicity of this shot.
That the first image is stronger, more striking than the second, despite the highlights in the second shot.

Wow, that's a beautiful picture! I love the colors that you see in the reflection and you fit everything into the picture perfectly. I also like how the reflection brings out the little droplets of water on the side of the plane.

Funny how things can change. When I shot the first, I thought "that's OK". When I shot the 2nd one, I thought "that's the one!" Once I started to edit it, I just couldn't tone down the 2nd one enough to bring out the dew and still have it look realistic.

Now, I see that I waited a minute or two too long for the 2nd one. Just a hint of direct sunlight would have been interesting to see as well.

Proves that one should not delete too hastily in-camera until reviewing them on a computer first.

Oh Man! These are great. Terrific abstract shapes, well composed, and beautiful deep complementary colors.
Had I seen either shot without the other I would have thought it couldn't have been improved. Seeing them together I guess I still feel the same, liking different aspects of each, but not feeling that either would really be improved by being more like the other. (Boy that sounds confusing)

i can visualize at least ten variations betwreen one extreme and the other..

quite a difference but each one is just as good as the other.. which is a problem i have with post proccessing.. i can never make my mind up and very often just end up going back to the original.. which is one of the reason i dont do much of it..

a nice eye for what makes a good photograph thow..

Hey Loupey!

The colors from your first shot make me positively squirmy (in a good way). Good for you for going ahead and just taking the shot instead of making the lazy mental excuses I would, i.e. 'I don't have my "good" camera out', 'It's to early and/or I'm too sleepy and/or the kids are going crazy', 'That's too ephemeral to translate', blah, blah, blah, rice krispies. Too sum up, good lookin' out.

It's well composed and well timed. 95% of it is showing up with batteries.

Loupey you never cease to amaze me with what your eyeleads you to shoot. Chalk another on up to the "nature shooting guy". Even with my "good" camera I probably couldn't have done half as well.

This has been most informative. At the risk of sounding like a male chauvinist (which I'm not), based on the predominantly male response (other than CLK - thanks by the way!), I would have to say that this must be a "guys" shot

I told my wife that this image made FP and her response was "why that one? It's just a plane"

And we are not even in marriage counseling - yet

. Confirms what they taught us in those marketing and advertising seminars - to hold the attention of most men, the top three subjects are: women, food, and transportation vehicles (in that order if I remember correctly).
