The weather let up for a day, allowing for a pleasant, albeit cold boat ride, and some great photo ops. This one's at the end of the outing. The bicycle caught my eye and this was my favorite shot with it in it.
Though the name on the boat indicates SF, this is in the Charlestown, Oregon Harbor.
This is the shooting situation where you need a graduated neutral density filter on the camera which would brighten up, bring out detail and perhaps even colour to the boat and the dark areas in the foreground.
Failing that, in postprocessing you can selectively lighten the foreground using the curves function in your photo-editor.
I agree with DB. This is an excellent shot depictingthe mood of the harbor. You managed to handle the contrast between bright sunlit sky area and the surrounding bluish darker areas of the shot.
