The composition doesn't do a whole bunch for me, but I love the stormy Midwestern sky and would like to see more of that.

I drive up and down the central valley of California a couple times a year. For miles there are high tension lines on gigantic structures. I have often wondered if that would make for a dynamic photo but never stop. The best part of this photo, at least for me, is the very dynamic sky. I love a good shot of clouds; they give so much personality to an image.
Thanks, EOS3 and CF for taking the time to look and comment!
FWIW, my wife thinks its a boring image I keep coming to this location as I am trying to get a lightening strike during the day. As it is, I think there is not enough connection between the wires and the clouds.
Once the rains came, I had to pack it in and make a run for the truck
Greg - thanks for the comments. I'll definitely let the wife know A few more unseasonably warm 60+ degree days before the snows come. The lightening shot will have to wait until next spring

Listen to your wife, Loupey. I listen to my daughter who has the advantage of being an artist with quite a good eye.
I think it is a good subject and it works ok for me. I think though, having more of the pole in the shot, say a vertical comp, would be stronger. Also having the pole lit up a bit more by the natural light would help as well. Try doing a slight levels adj hre and see what happens.

Gary, I appreciate your insight and advice. I will work with the image some more.
How about holding your camera vertically, I'd like to see more of the lines, lightning would be cool, but the dark sky like this would work great when complemented with a wider shot of the lines.
However saying that I agree with Gary about the vertical crop.
