    Red Butte

Taken on a drive down Red Gulch Road near Story, WY.
Converted to Tiff, boosted saturation slightly, increased contrast slightly, sharpened, cropped to panoramic.

Good shot. I would have selectively brought up a little detail in the shadow area in the foreground and used a software graduated blue filter on the sky or selectively darkened it a little.

Arrrggghhh!! After I got this shot home I though, you have those really nice Grad ND filters why did they stay in the bag? That would have certainly helped the sky. I wish I had the PS skills to dodge the shadowed part of the butte a little, I am very uncomfortable with PP.
Thanks for the comments...I have to learn to use PP.

It is a great image, I love it. A little tip for the dodge and burn, if you look at the top you can decrease the opacity and can choice between highlights, mid-tones and shadows. I normally use a color burn shadow with a 20% opacity.

    This is an excellent landscape.
The colors and the light really make this photograph.
I like how it is multidimensional, in that there is a disctinct foreground, middle ground and background.

    Re: Red Butte

Very nice, and as Brian pointed out there is a distinct foreground, middleground, and background to this. I think a polarizing (circular) filter would have saturated and colored the sky and helped distinguish whatever clouds there were, but as mentioned you can work on that with some software.
