a couple images

I took these on the way to the airport to drop off my roomate, I'm not sure if they work or what I could do to make them better, I figured that some of you could help me out with your wealth of knowledge. Any advice or critique is welcome, I'm still learning and am grateful for any input.

Both shots are technically well done. I think the first is more sinister because the clouds seem to have eyes (!!!) I only wish that there was some birds in the tree, so I added a few for an expt (see attached - hope you dont mind. I think a better job could be done). Perhaps more of the house too, seems a little cut off as is.

The second shot is also very strong, great contrast. I wish the left tree was a little better illuminated, but it is strong as is.

Good shots. I like the second one better, partly because I like landscape better than portrait--or do we say horizontal and vertical in photography? The first picture seems to be about the clouds, whereas the second is a "where you live" picture. Make any sense? Vehrstehen-sie? Comprenez-vous?

Wow, number 2 is very good. Dark in front with the tree in kind of silhouette and a bit of color at the back. Very good!
