    Pics from the casbah (northern africa) B&W

    Shots taken this summer with a Nikon D50, Tweaked with DxO pro, the area is rough, dodgy and on the edge, I cared for my camera.

    All critics welcome, many thanks.

    Rough, dodgy and on the edge works very well for me here.
    I don't know the terms well yet. I just know they work for me.

    Starting from the top;

    Top Image: Too much contrast. The highlights at the top of the image are blown out and the doorway/tunnel at the bottom of the image is too black. It could be my monitor (PC at work, I sure miss my Apple) but there is just too much lost detail.

    Middle Image: My favorite, I love the stairs drawing my eyes into the photo. It still has a little too much contrast for me but it sort of works here since the overall tone of the image has lots of darkness in it.

    Bottom Image: I don't like it compared to the others. I think what this image is missing is the dynamic tension that you got in the other images by photographing close to the walls.
