Starling invasion!
These are'nt everyones favourites, but i have loads in my garden every day, some very friendly as you can see from the images, the last two images are of one in particular who has been hand fed from a juvenile he waits by the back door throughout the day for his treats, and i have become quite attached to him, his name is "Snatch" guess why!

Re: Starling invasion!
Nice pictures Bev, I really like the last one... but oh how I loath those birds! Hooligans! They chase off all my native birds.

Re: Starling invasion!
YES , the european starling is an aggressive evasive, but they are pretty cool looking if you look closely. In my area were have flocks of 100's at times flying through

Re: Starling invasion!
Flocks of thousands are impressive, looking like dark clouds rather than a flock of birds.
In a garden even a small group will clear a bird table in minutes. I'd be surpsied if that lot in Bev's table left anything!

Re: Starling invasion!
Thanks for replies everyone, yes they are bullies! and yes my bird table is cleared in seconds!
But i have now managed to get alot of finch varieties into the garden and they dont seem to be put off by the starlings at the moment! in fact we have a large amount of collared doves and wood pidgeon and they seem to frighten the birds when feeding, all that flapping and fighting between each other.
