Both sexes are yellow above and below with forewing curved and pointed. Autumn-winter individuals MAY have black marking aboove and rosy scaling beneath. This is one of the magenta-flushed winter forms (also called rosa)
Flight is mid-to-late summer in the north and most of the year in the south. It is found from Southern California to Florida and irregularly into the Midwest/Canada/Northeast in summer.
