    Commuters

Actually most of my photography is bicycle stuff.

    Road bikes.

Wouldn't do to let those mountain bikers get all the bandwidth.

I stood on the side of the trail until a cyclist passed then I moved over holding the camera down by my feet-I wasn't looking through the viewfinder. Probably took 50 shots and deleted most of them. Of course the ones I kept required a bit of straightening and croping.....

    Re: Commuters

I wish that were my commute!
I Iike the perspective as well, it gives a good feel for an early morning ride to work.
I also like how the riders fade into te horizon.

    Re: Commuters

MB1, this is good, with a fresh perspective on road biking in the city. The sunset is a big plus here and the silhouetted bikers in the distance adding as well. The stone wall on the left leads down to the horizon and the distant bikers. My only suggestion/critique would be that I think that focusing on the near biker, leaving the distant elements fading off into the sunset would have been stronger. Having the larger foreground element out of focus is a little distracting, or discomforting. Good shot, and congrats on the featured photo.

Not so much out of focus as moving.

If you notice the wall on the left is about the same distance away from the camera as the cyclist on the right. It was a fairly long exposure (perhaps 1/15th) so the riders movement (notice how the spokes are blurred) was more noticable than the riders farther away.

    MB,

I will just ditto what has been said. Good image and the composition, with the rider to the right is excellent. Well seen and implemented.

    Re: Commuters

MB1 - Very pretty shot! I guess I also like how it shows that bikers ride at all times (gettin' a little dark there, prob cause I run a lot myself and so I'm often seeing scenes like this.

I think the shot is fine as is, but I personally would have liked more space above the near biker's head. That would open it up more. But like you explained it's tough to get a keeper in a situation like this! Also, did you PP sharpen it up any?

Btw I wiped out on this very bridge once (another biker clipped me going the other way), still have the scars.. :23:
