    Rebel xti

    Hi,
I'm new here and I just ordered a Canon Rebel Xti today. I have had a Rebel XL and I presently own a Rebel XT. I'm pretty good at the point and shoot auto features, but have a lot to learn with manual and all the other technical stuff that goes along with being a decent photographer.

I'm hoping this is the place where I can learn from others and I'm a good student!:blush2:

    Re: Rebel xti

Been using a Canon XTi for a couple of months now and I'm very, very happy. I shoot pretty much all manual and it's the third Canon digital SLR I've had. So I'm pretty sure I can help answer any questions you might have. I'm very, very impressed with this camera. My other two Canon digital SLRs - a Canon EOS 1D and a 10D - have been pro models. The XTi completely outperforms the EOS 10D. And unless I need to speed and super-autofocus of the EOS 1D, the XTi has been more than able to do the job.

    Welcome to the Forum!

You made a great choice in a camera! I've had mine for almost 2 months and am very happy with it. Actually it's my favorite of all the cameras I've had. I upgraded from the XT.

Enjoy! And post some pictures when you get a chance. You can share in the Viewfinder forum - and when you're looking for a critique, how to improve your photos, etc. in the Critique forum.

We're glad to have you aboard.

I checked and see you haven't posted a review for your camera yet, CanonFodder. We need more reviews for the XTi. Please add your review. If you need some more motivation, there's a review contest right now. The prizes are a Canon G7 compact digital camera, and SilverFast DCPro digital camera software - an excellent RAW conversion application.

Thanks in advance for your reviews! We always need more. And everyone is qualified to share their experience. No excuses!

    Re: Rebel xti

the improvement of the automatic dust deletion setting is worth so much more than the difference between the xti and xt. My personal opinion. I wish the 1d had that feature, and i guess the bump to 10 mp is good as well, but as I've learned, if you know how to use the MP you have, you don't need a lot of them. American society just loves to see those big numbers. PJ, i though the 10d was classified as mid-range? Or was it pro when it was released now has just dropped to mid?
