    5 alarm fire

    I shot this from my balcony one block away. This is in downtown Chicago. It was a historic building from 1887. At first it looked like they'd put it out right away, but then it kept raging and the entire building was destroyed.
    I like how this picture looks with the sun shining on all the buildings around the fire. And I think it looks good with the fire in the center of the photo. Comments/suggestions welcome.

    Great capture. I also think that the framing works on this. This one could go to the newspapers...

    That's pretty intense.

    Great shot, perfect framing.


    Might have been cool if the fire was at dusk so you could have played with the exposure, flames would appear more intense while the scene is reasonably lit with a longer exposure. So for next time there's a fire conveniently in view of your home, you can take that into consideration. :P

    (I honestly see no room for improvement on this shot, very well done)

    I want to crop a bit off the sides and bottom to make the fire action a bigger part of the photo.

    Nice capture, it is a shame about the building.
