    Re: Slash&Burn window

    Welcome David,

I think this is a beautiful image. It reminds me of the melting landscapes of Dali. The colors are engaging, as are the textures. I also like the flow of the marks sliding away from the slats of the window. Everything looks like it is about to become unglued.
I don't think I've ever seen this technique used before. Could you explain in a little more detail how you achieved this? Are you reproducing these images on a traditional film enlarger or a scanner bed?

Welcome to the forum. This looks to be an intrigueing concept lending to a very artistic result. I like the image.Did it start out as a photo of something (window and/or textures) before manipulating the transparency? Good

Has an African art flavor to it with the colors, patterns, and shapes. I've run across heating/melting/distorting of slides but the cutting adds a progressive element.

Welcome to PR and nice work that I hope to see more of soon!

    Hi David,

Interesting technique. Excellent visualization, the placements of the cuts works well throughout the image but really adds to the negative space. I also like how the heat interacts with the film. I look forward to see additional images.

    Thank you all.

I'm writing a tutorial about Slash&Burn technique. It's in italian, but I will try to translate it in my bad english! And I will post it to the forum. Wait some days.

I print the slide on traditional film enlarger.

    A warm welcome.
I can imagine an enlargement of this hanging on my best room wall. It's an attention grabber and beautiful as well. I love this type of stuff and I'm rarely interested in what exactly it is; just prefer to look at it and feel rewarded.
Colour and shape of the highest order.

Most certainly Daliesque, and very, very compelling. Looking forward to what's next.
