    Long Before It Flys

    Actually, this is the egg that didn't make it. Two others hatched and the babies flew away.

    Neet image, but what kind of bird laid that egg? I see atleast 2 species of feathers there or so it seems

    Sorry it has taken so long to respond. I have been searching for a photo of this tiny black bird but cannot find it. This bird is very tiny, not much larger than a hummingbird, sleek, totally black with a long sharp bill. Wish I could tell you more. Sorry.

    can you please help me with some more info. Where was the nest located(ground, bush, tree...)

    I can not think of too many small birds that fit that description, especial black

    was it a wren or a dark hummingbird(broud-billed) maybe. You say long sharp bill, do you mean such as a hummingbird has?
