Dinner Time In The Salt Marsh

I took these shots of some White Ibis behind the NC Aquarium. They have a walkway and two observation platforms that overlook a salt marsh that adjoins Bogue Sound.

First shot is a White Ibis with a fish.

Second shot is a White Ibis with a fiddler crab.

Third shot is a crop of the second shot.

Nice, Speed. I really like the 2nd shot. How the Ibis appears to be coming out of his hiding place (which he evidently was) but mostly because his reflection is in the calm spot of the water.

That new DSLR of yours really seems to hold the detail well.

    Thanks for posting!

I like the reflection as well. And I love the detail the D200 is capable of! It is a joy to use and it continues to delight me with the photo's it captures.

You've got to feel slightly liberated not being limited 24/36 exposures at a time

Have you figured how many more images you take now per outing compared to your film days?

    "compared to your film days?"

Oh yeah. It's not uncommon for me to shoot 200 frames in a weekend. Last weekend, I shot 301 frames in two days. It's nice not having to limit myself or worry about developing costs, but processing them (organizing, naming, etc) is KILLING me!

Ah, the crosses we must bear in the name of art.
