    Ready to play!

Hi all! I've mostly been a lurker on these boards so far. I'm still in the learning stages and have read some great info and advice from the members. I just got the Canon XTi last weekend and am excited to start shooting and putting everything I've read into practice. I've seen a few other people say they have this camera...any tips or words of wisdom about it? I'm still learning how to use it but it's been a fun task so far! I mainly wanted to say thanks for all the great info on these boards and I hope to get some photos up soon!

    Re: Ready to play!

I have the XTi. No special rules for the camera. It's just a camera. Read the manual, use the histogram, and take lots of pictures. Practice is the most important thing. When you have questions we'll be here to help. So far I've been very happy with the camera. Things I like most are the excellent battery life, great high ISO performance, the resolution, and the small size. I have two larger digital SLRs and I really enjoy how small and light the XTi is.

Please post a review for your camera. It may be a bit early but there are no reviews for it yet and we can always replace your review with a more complete one once you get to know the camera better. But it would be really nice to have a review up now - even if it's a bit early. Here's a link to that review page:

Use the histogram! That's the main thing. Thanks in advance for the review

Most important thing, how good is the dust removal prevention?

Ah well, I don't know. Seems to be working so far. Every time you turn off the camera some sort of dust removal process runs. I guess I'll have something to say if some dust appears in my images, right?

my best advice is to read your manual, then read it again. It will help you more than you know.
