    Myrtle Beach Sunrise

Here are a few shots I took of the sunrise on Myrtle Beach, let me know what you think, and what could make them better

I like the first one (minus the flare) and the second one quite a lot. Your compositions are efficient and I like the lighting in them.

The third one doesn't works for me. It is confusing so to speak. I mean, I can figure out where the beach stops and where is the water but the picture seems busy and confusing at a quick first glance, which I think is problematic.

Oh, now see...I like the third one the best! I love the different textures of the sand as you look over the picture, and then the water. Plus, I really enjoy the lighting. The only thing that I wonder about is whether the shot needs the whole sun in it...I haven't decided whether that would work better for me...

I like all of them minus the flare in the first shot and I would definitely like to see the entire sun in the third. Not much you can do about flare when shooting almost straight at the sun. Just be careful about composition on shots like the third one.

    Re: Myrtle Beach Sunrise

I really like the top shot. I dont see any flare to speak of here ... am I missing it? It is a really pretty shot and the sun was partially obscured, which is a plus.... That makes for a dreamy effect. The only thing I would have done was include the top of the right-side post.

The second shot has a lot of potential but I feel that it might be missing something, esp on the left side. If there was a kid there with one of those glow-lights or someone lying there asleep... would really have been neat.

The bottom one sort of misses. Good try and worth the expt, but I think just seeing the sun's reflection on the shore instead of just barely seeing it poke through would be more effective (actually, all's you have to do is crop it out...)

I luv those east-coast sand fences. It's a pity they have almost none in California. Then they wonder why their beaches are so eroded away

I can see flare on the fence post jus to the left of the sun reflecting off the water.

Yes, there is a little flare on that shot, but I guess it doesn't really bother me =) I actually like the look of a little bit of flare in a picture, as long as it's not over the top.
