    Monarch butterflies

I came upon some monarchs at a local park today, here are some of the shots i got. I have no idea what kind of bush or whatever they are on but they really seemed to like it, anyone know what it is?

    Thanks Knight.
I'm not all that familiar with plants either, I looked up milkweed on the web and looks like that may be it.

Pretty images, Quetzal. I like the first one best.

These guys just started showing up here as well. Most are pretty wary and won't let me get too close to them.

Good quality images. Hope to see some more

I'm ok with plants. It IS a milkweed (Genus Asclepias). There are 100 known different varieties, (I have 3 at my place). They attract butterflies.

    Excellent pictures, by the way!!!

These are very nice. Great exposure and your comp is good as well. I think I have to go with one as well even though it's not as close and detailed as I would normally like. I had a few shoot of a monarch yestereday as well but he was very beatup and betraggled. Part of one wing was gone. Didn't think he would have really like to have his picture on the web.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??
