Question Canon 10d battery charger + car 12v socket

    Hi,

This is my first post so I hope someone can help!

I am going camping and need a charger that will connect to a car 12v socket. I wondered if anyone has tried the one available from payless-batteries.co.uk
If it`s any good, then it`s a great price!

    Link is:

I normally use canon`s own mains charger with the usual BP-511 batteries

    Any info is much appreciated

    Cheers
    David

Just buy an inverter. That way you don't have to buy a new charger, too. I have an inverter I can plug into the lighter in my car. It has two plugs on it and I can use it to power or recharge anything I want. I think it cost me about $30 US and it was made by Targus.

I second the inverter.. You can get them in different wattages and you will be suprised what you will end up using them for. Plus you use your normal equipment. There are several brands and almost every store in the US has them, don't know about UK, but theey are readily available here....

I agree with the above comments. I have been using an inverter for over an year and is particularly useful when on holidays. It not only charges the camera but also the mobile (cell) phones and the laptop computer. The inverter I use is Mobitronic MCI-100-12 made by WAECO and is rated at 100 Watts no larger than a soft drink can and cost in Australia about US$40. This model is probably no use in 110 Volts regions as its output is 240Volts. The output of this inverter is a modified square wave. Don’t get a pure square wave output inverter as it may damage your charger and it interferes with the radio. This model is available in England according to the instructions.

    Many thanks guys.

I bought an inverter from Amazon.co.uk and I am looking forward to using it.

It`s a VRX 150 Watt Power Inverter for anyone else who`s interested.

    Cheers
