I'm new here.

I've always been into photography but my real addiction took off 4 years when I recieved my first digital. I was like a kid in a candy store. Finally I could take a million pictures of the same thing in hopes for getting that 'perfect shot'
I went through my first camera in no time. In two years I took more then 6,000 pictures. That poor camera worked even after it couldn't work no more. Hee hee!
I got a new camera at the end of May because I was taking a 3 week trip around the southwest...

I took mostly pet and animal pictures with my other camera (Kodak DX 3900), but this camera (Olympus FE-140) is much better at taking landscape scenery shots.

I have a couple of award winning photos I'd like a share, but they're about 3 years old and the quality shows now, they're only 3.1 pixels.

Can't wait to start looking around and meeting everyone.

Well that's not fair. You can't tell us you took award winning photos and then not share them You may be one of only a half dozen or so to post an award-winning photo here!

At 3 mega pixels you can do very nice 8 by 10 prints. At 3 mega pixels you can print 3 by 5 at 300 dpi and for computer viewing the monitors are only 72 dpi, and at 72 dpi the printed size is up to 12 by 16 inchs so why are you saying the quality isn't there?

Welcome KittyKat...some of my best photos have been taken with my Kodak DX 4330. Like you, I began about 4 years ago even though, I'd always loved photography. Just for your info, unless that camera died, which I probably doubt, it is still a good camera capable of many great shots. My 4330 has more than 50,000 pictures on it and I still use it as a backup camera. At the end of last year, I finally upgraded to a Nikon Coolpix 8400. I liked it, but I really couldn't see much of an improvement over my 4330. But then, I purchased a Pentax *ist DL DSLR shortly after the first of the year. I have already put over 20,000 pictures on it and no sign of slowing down.
Like you, digital really set my photography soul on fire. I look forward to seeing your photos!!!

Now almost every picture the Kodak takes is blurry and most of the pictures are 'grainy' looking when they made larger then 5x7. I use a landscape pic I took 2 years ago as the wallpaper to my laptop and you can see the dpi.

KittyKat, before relegating the cam to the rarely used pile, double check your settings. It's possible that the quality has been changed accidentally. If you've still got everything on "High Quality", then there is something definitally wrong with cam, but you should have gotten more than 6k worth of pics with it. Like I said, my Kodak has well over 50000 pics and still puts out a nice 8x10.
3.1 mp is more than enough for a good pic. Also, clean your lens, and check to see if you can reset the camera to factory specs. Most cams ( and electronic equip.) have a reset setting or button.

Actually the Kodak is almost twice the size of my new Olympus and it's getting harder for me to hold. I have a birth defect in my spinal cord that is giving neurological problems and the smaller camera is far less awkward for my hands to manipulate.
The Kodak is now more of an emotional keepsake then a useable peice of equipment. It was the last thing my mother gave me before she died.

Wow KK...I'm really sorry to hear about your loss and your BD. I also have a disability and it is very hard for me sometimes as well. I am glad you have something to cherish from your mom. About 2 years ago, I lost my grandmother, and right before she passed, she gave my wife a set of handmade Indian dolls. These are our most treasured "possessions" besides our families.
