Miva Style???? Are they trustworthy?

Hello,

Have anyone of you heard about Miva Style? They sell cheap cameras but are they trustworthy?

I was looking for a good deal on the Canon EOS 1DS Mark II - and the best deal I could find on Froogle was at www.mivastyle.com. They sell it for 5,425 dollars whereas B&H www.bhphotovideo.com sell it for 6,900 dollars. That, I think, is a good deal, right?

But is it fraud? Can anyone tell me? Also if you live in LA, California then maybe you could check it out for me? According to https://www.mivastyle.com/contact.php Miva Style is located in Los Angeles. I've even tryed to look them up on Google. Here's what I found:






As you can see it's near Los Angeles Central Library.

Miva Style even told me that they have more than 50 orders per day. Somebody must have heard of it.

So far your post has 111 views and unfortunately no answers. That's not really a great response and I'm sorry about that. On the other hand, if anyone knew anything, I think you might have had a reply. That being the case, I think you can infer that they are unknown and therefore not to be trusted - at least not yet. Buying from them would be something of a gamble.

Please don't shop purely by price. You are asking to be taken advantage of. If B&H sells a camera for a certain price, you can be fairly certain that anyone selling for hundreds of dollars less has to be hiding something. B&H has the most buying power, or close to the most buying power, on the planet. This isn't an advertisement for them. I'm just saying to use them for reference. If you compare to B&H and the price seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Again - please don't shop purely by price. It's a dangerous practice on the Internet. Shop by dealer reputation first, and price second. Stick with the trusted dealers and pay a fair price and you can't go wrong.

I have been trying to get someone at Miva Style to answer the phone for three days with no success. When you call the business a greeting directs you to leave a message. They will reply to your e-mail. One reason I will not do business with Miva Style is that they do no accept any major credit cards. Only moneygrams and e-gold. No protection against fruad.

Hello all the community.

I buy the 7 of june a canon 30d at Mivastyle, y send the money by Moneygram. Mivastyle response me that they received the money and proced to send me the camera, the next day I received the comfirmation that the camera was shipped. I try to contact with them because they never gave me the tracking #.but they never respond me. I send a lot of emails and no respond too. I think this company is a fraud. I think I loose my money. I hope i'm wrong.

I ordered a nikon d200 at mivastyle.com, paid the bill and got a confirmation email, that the package was shipped. Of course, there was no confirmation # either. And now there is no response to emails or phone calls.
MIVASTYLE IS FRAUDULENT and has to be reported as a criminal company! I already did so at the FBI (at www.ic3.gov). Unfortunately it seems that a little over 1'500 bucks lost is not enough to draw some attention to this crime.
Maybe there's a way of filing a collective suit of all the "customers" who have been jipped by mivastyle (or miva electronics for that matter, they don't really exist anyways)
I'm very angry because my money is gone and I still don't have a digital SLR.
What can we do to bring 'em down and get our money back?

They work like this: good looking web site, you buy, they said they ship. They will never ship. FULL SCAM. Same as Kellocity.com. People complain about them, they reopen under another name.

Adressess are false, phone numbers a joke ( answering machine ) as soon as you pay, no more contact is possible!

They laght! cause nobody catch them.

What can I say? My friend X made good deals with MIVASTYLE. I think they shipped a thing or two to gain some trust. Do not trust them!
