    Canon 20D Gremlins

During a day's shooting my 20D will shut down straight after an exposure and the only way it will restart is if I turn it off and remove the batteries..It will then restart normally..I have BG-E2 battery grip fitted and it can happen with any lens..I ensure the BG-E2 is firmly mounted..

Has anyone else had this problem??

This is a known problem with the battery grip, not sure if Canon has a fix for it or not.

Sorry to hear that, but I think it may help in the long run. You'd think something like the battery grip would be fairly simple and straight forward.

    Re: Canon 20D Gremlins

Sounds like exactly the same symptoms as my battery grip.

In my case it was because the 20D was mounted on the top bar of the windscreen while doing 90mph + laps of Spa Francorchamps race circuit.
The BG started coming unscrewed form the body - scary beacuse the body would have fallen off at speed and I'd have the BG alone on the tripod mount secured to the car

Seemed after getting itself in a twist just removing and replacing the BG did not fix the problem. I had to go back to one battery in the body to make it work, then reinstall the BG to continue shooting.

It's also been known to happen when the camera gets too hot. I think if the internal temp is greater than 100 degrees or something like that. I've had it happen in the middle of a rodeo arena and on the side of a mountain on hot days, and I don't use the BG for my 20D.

    :~)
