EOS Digital Rebel XT with AF/MF lens

Hello all,
I am a complete newb when it comes to higher-end cameras. I just purchased a Digital Rebel XT, this one- http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1099394810083

I know somebody giving away a new lens, it is a Sigma 28-300mm F3.4-6.3 macro lens.
Will this work on my camera?

As long as it has a Canon EOS mount it will work.

If it's a Canon EF mount, then yes the Sigma should work.
