I like this a lot!
I like the contrast of the two colors and their textures.
The lines too! Great lines!
I think this is the best photograph I have ever seen from you Herriot!
There is almost some balance in how you have the swimmer nd the four chairs, maybe some symmetry.
GOOD ONE!!

I also think the shot is great. The only bad thing or not really bad but something is - it seems sort of blurry to me and that red spot on the swimmer looks weird.The lines at the top of the pool the cracks draw you down into the pool almost as if your standing over it and cant hold on. Also the height in which the shot was taken is also very nice.Were u on a building?

Great shot! You have a nice contrast of color, and geometric patterns (squares, curves, and chaos). The focus could be sharper (but, that may be a downsizing for the web issue).

The photo has a lot of interestin elements: grids in the pool. the lines of the ground, and the position of the chairs. I have a feeling of instability because the transparent water (feeling of lighter weight) in the lower part and the solid ground (feeling of heavier weight) in the upper part. Just me.

Thank you for your comments, this was indeed taken from a building that towers above the pool, I was about 9 floors up. I took this with my zoom lens that has prompted similar reponses in the past regarding sharpness, (Canon EF 70 - 300mm f4.5-5.6 DO IS).

Thanks for your input, have found it to be very encouraging!

Herriot, I absolutely love this photo...and it's definitely my favorite by you. I love the contrast of swimmer against the grid-like pattern of the pool. Just fabulous.

This is an almost perfect photo. The only thing I wish was different is the pose of the swimmer. If he was in a position a few moments before or after this, with his elbow up and his body a bit clearer, this could be the cover shot of a glossy travel magazine.

But sometimes you just don't get perfect. This is pretty darn good.

Great shot...great colors...only thing I would change is to crop out the top left corner...there is just a little bit that breaks up the pattern.

Excellent photo! And I'm not going to pick on the small details. You should submit this to betterphoto.com, and I am betting you'd place as finalist at the very least.
