Please forgive the purposly pretentious title This is a result of some dabbling with my garden shed.

I am trailer trash and don't know who Rothko is, lol. Anyway, I love the textures and colors, as well as the simplicity, and think it is very well done.

An artist best known for his abstract, expressionistic art. I used the computer in my trailer to Google it.

Well seen and the dark detail-less areas in between the rich rustic red lend it a Rothkoesque look, So, NAILED IT! (By the way the NAIL and twine expertly takes this into the superior medium (IMHO) of photographic abstract art).

Nice pic. Simlar tones to Rothko, but Rothko was more abstract and subtle. The kind of thinng that show much better in person on canvas. Yours is more of what I'd call a graphic image that shows well on the web.

It's a gorgeous shot, I love the composition and the break from the repetition that the nail adds. Rothko was all fuzzy though, this is too sharp for Rothko!

I tried to do Rothko photographically in college - took some silk scarves and unfocused. Came out like blobs. Kinda like his paintings!

This is a fine image and as Tuna stated, the Nail and twine bring a fine image up to another level. Well done.

To everybody who replied a big thank you. I liked this myself but was a bit unsure how it worked as a photograph if you know what I mean. When I took it Rothko had never entered my mind but as I was putting the finishing touches to it, it reminded me of a huge Rothko poster we had on our wall many years ago. Thanks again.
