Re: Water lily, and the final of the set.
I think the "bulls eye" composition is very appropriate. A couple of minor sugestions; The center is not real sharp and a bit blown out maybe, and there is a little bit of wood or something showing in the bottom of the frame that is a little distracting.
Nice work,
PG

Re: Water lily, and the final of the set.
Of all of the flower photosgraphs you have posted lately, I think this is the best of the lot.
Why?
This is most colorful and the repeating shapes and sizes of the pedals is good.
I think that your placement of the flower just off center was a good choice.
The only thing that bothers me is the light and lines at the bottom. It's not that distracing, but my eye wanders there. Watching your background will help with that next time.

Thanks for your kind words. Now you won't have to see so many flowers anymore, as I finally got one right. When i make a goal, i don't give up until it is reached.
Have a wonderful 4th!!

Re: Water lily, and the final of the set.
Good lighting and I agree the bullseye framing here works fine as the starlike form of the flower can be dealt with that way. i like the deep saturation in the middle and fading colors towards the petals. Yes, the bright area towards the bottom of the frame could use to be burned in to darken and lessen its demand for attention. Good image and congrats on the sticky!

Re: Water lily, and the final of the set.
Incredible shot. The way the flower expands in all directions -- wow. The only thing that I think could be improved is to somehow remove the violet object in the bottom background (not sure what it is) but regardless, it's a very special shot.

Thanks to you all for your comments. I guess I will have to stop being hard headed and take the digital darkroom plunge .

I think this a great shot! The colours and comp work really well, and the out of focus that Phoebe mentioned, actually works here. If the background had been lighter, it may have been an issue, but not here! Nice work
