i like it alot, i think its really beautiful. i can never get my door shots right, and i think you did a really good job at it. though i do think the person is a little distracting, but other than that, !! its pretty cool looking. good job

A very formal appearing shot - I like that the upper window is cracked open and there is a single railing to break that up a bit. I didn't notice the person until mentioned - is that your reflection? The masonry is all well exposed with nice contrast while the door and window inside the arch seem rather dull and flat.

sweetdeal22, actually I just liked the lamps and stonework on this one. I cloned out an annoying sign on the lower part of the right door, so it would look more photogenic . So it wasn't exactly that great. Thanks for looking. And the reflection is me.

Chunk, I decided to go for a formal shot because of the symmetry of the subject. The pair of oranate lamps, the stonework, etc. Yes that is me . Unfortunately when I scanned in the photo, the door came out darker than the original. Something I shall have to work on. Thanks for commenting.

I like the lamps and the flower pots, they create good balance to this picture in my opinion.

Hi Drew,
The pic uses the symmetry approach to depict the scene. The handrail on the right adds an interesting element because there is no handrail on the left, which disobeys the symmetry. Just my opinion, the overall feeling is a bit bland. The shot is good for the documentary purpose. Just my thought.

Couple of quick comments -
Nice self portrait ;)
The upper window over the ornate entry detracts from the whole photo is my feeling.
The image is not quite cropped to the best advantage left to right in centering. A little extra on the right it seems.

Other than those nit picks (other than the self portrait, some of us try to unobtrusively be included in some of these types of shots) I think you picked a great location. The sconces(?) above the door are rather unusual. Or I have not seen many like them.
