    Solarised fairground

Continuing with Erich's fairground theme, a contact print from a fair in England. Any comments would be greatly welcomed as always!

    Many thanks

    Surreal!

Great effect, Herriot. I wish htough that it could be more subtle, or maybe you could chop off the unecessary parts of the picture. It cool, but confusing due to the amount of detail. Chose a main subject and cut the rest off, or use some blur to disguise it from the background. Anyway, I must say it was very creative!

How did you achieve that effect?

Good idea but I think something's missing but I'm not sure what. Maybe too much white space?

By the way, I was in Munich a few weeks ago, beautiful city!

    Re: Solarised fairground

Thank you both for your comments!

With regards to this effect, this is purely manual labour, absolutely no software has been used to create or modify this image (as is the case with 99% of my posts).

The image was taken with a slow shutterspeed on a Leica M6 and I processed the film myself.

I developed the image and while doing so used solarisation (exposing certain parts of the picture to more light).

Once I had the print, I turned it upside down and used it as the negative to create the image that you see here (so you are looking at a reverse image of the original shot).

Pretty basic stuff but I liked the end result, your 'The wheels of dreams' post caught my eye and prompted me to post this image, along with the 'Eye Dali' image of the largest ferris wheel in the world.

    Thanks both for your input!!
