    Nubian Boatman

Hi all .. I'm just back from a trip to Egypt. I'll post a picture every day for 5 days to see what you think. This was a Nubian boatman on Lake Nasser. Incredibly noble face.

    Cheers

    Hey Mike,

The character in this mans face is incredible. I don't find the rest of the photo to be all that interesting, but I don't think the photo would be as powerfull without it. It is needed to set the mood and the scean for the photo, and helps to add a story to the image. Nice shot, I can't wait to see the rest of them.

    Mike,

Great portrait shot, but the over exposed area around his face is distracting. It does draw your eye to his face, yet it's still distracting.

    Could be fixed though,

I think this would have been better done as a head and shoulders shot personally. I agree with the other posts about the distracting overexposed background. I think that a head and shoulders crop on his face with a decent pose would have been better.
