I got Draganized...

As part of my learning curve with the Dragan effect and as a follow up from this thread http://forums.photographyreview.com/...ad.php?t=59604

This time I used a different subject...me! and a different approach, this time trying to correct some of the flaws and making the output some more...digestible.
You know the drill...shoot C&C, it will be appreciated

Re: I got Draganized...

I like this shot a lot. I think it's much closer to the Dragan effect you were originally going for. Dodging out around the hairline was a good choice for separating the subject (you) from the background and really makes things pop off the screen. This also has an uncanny resemblance to some of DrayMorton's work from earlier in the year. <compliment

Re: I got Draganized...

Great work, once again. Additional sharpness needed, though.

EDIT: I agree with frog. First one is better. Second looks overdone/tonemapped to me.

Re: I got Draganized...

Good job. Your expression here is well suited for the effect, I think.

Re: I got Draganized...

Nice work, Rob. I also prefer the first one. Looks a bit more natural in a good way. I like the light and composition. Good expression as well.

Re: I got Draganized...

Congrats, man! Well-deserved. Add some sharpening to the top one and you're set. I never mentioned it, but the pose and expression are absolutely perfect for this kind of work.

Seems like you're well on your way to becoming a genuine descendent of the great Dragoon! :P

Thanks a lot Jetrim for the comments and compliment I`m much more satisfied with the result compared to my first attempt, tho I`m aiming for something much more "crispier" unfortunately I took this myself and was hard to focus and pose ( I need to buy a remote control) and the original file is a bit out of focus (blurred)
Regarding the background that was the harder part...the original background was my living room wall which is some sort of cream color. I found out that the best way to go was trim the subject and remove the background and paint it black and with some burn at the edges did the trick of merging me with the darkness.
