How does the Pentax k-x stack up against the xsi and d3000?

I a complete newb to dslrs in fact I'm looking for my first one now. I know that all the cameras will probably do fine for what I want but I tend to obsess. I need something to take pics of the kids playing sports and just for general pics out and about. I have a point and shoot that I usually use but I need something that i can take to the ballpark and get some decent pictures of the kids.
With that said I think I like the Canon xsi, Pentax k-x and the Nikon d3000. I like the Pentax in that it will do over 4 fps and it has 11 autofocus points and the IS is in the camera. That last one may not be a big deal as I may never buy an additional lens. I would love to hear some opinions on how these cameras compare with each other for the uses I described. Thanks in advance
