I am deeply struck by the story this tells. The young, happy couple window shopping in contrast to the lonely plight of this old woman. Wow. b/w works beautifully here. Bravo again.

I just love the way the couple and beggar are totally oblivious to each other; worlds apart and the fashion display further reveals contrasting fortunes.
The composers name, the word Vivaldi! seems to shout out a message of some significance.
The exposure and contrast is also top notch and I feel this is street photography of the highest order.

The aspect which asserts itself most forcibly to me is how apparently oblivious the young couple are to the beggar. Materialism > altruism. (Ah, youth...)
But I do see what Tom's seeing, too: that each party is lost in its own world to the extent that the other's doesn't really register at all. Welcome to urban living.
I would love to witness you in action, Tuna. Street photography is such a challenging endeavor in so many ways that it's a mystery how people ever get anything good at all, never mind shot upon shot upon shot as meaningful (and technically perfect) as yours.
Masterful work, as always.

I also agree with Dray. Street Photography is almost a sport. You make it look so easy. You also get a great deal of clarity and detail in your pictures. Where do you get our negatives scanned?

Greg, I work in the photofinishing industry and have the advantage of knowing who has a well maintained, clean C-41 processor. In this case (shot on Tri-X) I use a local company that has small camera shops with a large central lab in the area - they have about a dozen locations within a 100 mile radius of me. If they ever disappear, I will dust off my B&W developing skills and return to irritating my wife with the aromas of developer etc. throughout the house. All that is for the developing of my negs - as for scanning, I use a Nikon Coolscan IV dedicated film scanner at home.
