Though I'd show you another couple I took at the art Fair

Don't know whether I should have posted them as snaps. First time I tried stuff like this.

Nice shots, Dave!
Can you write us, who are the dancers? What country are they coming from?

Well, see, here's the thing....

I ended up at the back of the audience and I was getting heads in most of the shots. I tried to get as much as possible without the audience. (told you I was new to this) and didn't feel much like yelling "photographer coming through!" Some of them were chairbound too, so I thought better of it. I would have been as happy as larry if I could have got a better vabtage point. Ah, well, inexperience rules eh?

Wish I could tell you, my friend, I got there after they'd started and didn't hear who they were. Eastern european I think.

Actually therein lies the answer to one of my problems, get there BEFORE they start and then I might get a better vantage point. Sounds like a plan don't it?

Thanks for the answer, Dave. On the trousers of the dancer I can see highland motives (?), but I think that the dancers aren't Polish highlanders...

I'm sorry, Wojciech, I really don't know, but I did get the feeling that they were polish.

The girls in the other photo you posted were definitely Ukrainian, but these costumes are not (and these women don't look Ukrainian either) It's possible they are from Belarus but the costumes look to be more Germanic than Slavic. My first guess would be either Swiss or Austrian, but that man's costume has me second guessing...

Re: Though I'd show you another couple I took at the art Fair

Nice shots. Not bad for snaps, and sometimes that's all you can do. I esp feel that bringing a big SLR to some events draws a lot of attention. But did you have an SLR here? If you did, seems that you could have used a little faster SS hence faster ISO. But the motion has its own charms.

I like them both, I wish you they weren't as tight though, a bit of breathing room could have improved this in my opinion. nice catches nevertheless.
