Cool Unrecognized files ??? Please help

Hi, I have a Canon 50D and have never had any problems uploading photos before onto my mac BUT ...
While importing pictures into iPhoto an alert appears with this message:
"Unreadable Files: The following files could not be imported (they may be an unrecognized file type or the files may not contain valid data)"
I tried uploading a new photo from my old sony camera and it uploaded fine. What could the problem be ? I'm starting to go crazy . The photos where taken in JPEG.
Cheers

I have a question, can you view the file/image on your MAC? or are you uploading to the mac and you get the message? I could not read directly from a Canons memory card as I had to download drivers and download from the camera, to say I was was not happy would be an under statement.

Re: Unrecognized files ??? Please help

This probably is not the answer, but I can share my experience as something similar happened to me. A while back I put my SD card in the computer and "viewed" the images that were on the card. I then did some editing to the images (while still on the card but viewed on my pc). I left the edited version on the card as I wanted to take the card with the images to show a friend.

When I got to my friend's house, I could not view some of the edited photos. I got a message similar to yours, although not on all the "edited" images. Some of them I could view for some reason - maybe it depended on what type of editing I did to each image.

I tried it once months later and the same thing happened.

Re: Unrecognized files ??? Please help

This problem happened to me this morning. I plugged the camera to the pC and got the same message. My Olympus has two card slots, one for CF and one Xd. So I copied the files to the Xd and then tried again and it worked. I haven't tried the CF card yet but I am not sure what happened?
