Closeup filters,fisheye lens,mirror lens ???

I have been searching online for Olympus gear (just out of curiosity to see what is available)
I know that there are close up filters available for use with other camera lens makes but are there any available for use with Zuiko lenses?

I have found some of these as well as fisheye lenses and mirror lenses (although not sure what this lens is or does) on the web that come with an adapter so they can be used with different Olympus model cameras, they are claimed to be made in Japan.

Being so cheap I gather the photo quality would be poor? and could there be a risk of damaging any Zuiko lens that these items would be attached to ?

Has any Olympus users here every used or is using any of these ?

I apologise if this all sounds really dumb to any of you, experienced or otherwise, I am a newcomer to using a DSLR and still have a lot to learn .... and unfortunately asking dumb questions is all part of the learning process (well it is for me anyway)

You get what you pay for, generally.
Close up filters that go on the front of the lens aren't as good as using extension tubes, IMO.
Anything that goes in front of your lens is going to affect the quality.
And if it's really cheap, then it's not likely to be really good either.

I have the olympus fisheye lens. Alot of my friends made fun of me for getting a fisheye saying it wasen't piratical, but I have taken some great shots with it.




It is my most fun lens to use and often grabs unique captures that everyone with their giant lenses miss out on.

Great shots! Which "fisheye" lens is that? The color is great - as is your composition.

The whole point of an SLR is being able to use different lenses. If you want to use cheap front-of-lens add-ons, you're better off buying a camera with a fixed lens. Those usually have a longer zoom range to start with and none of the SLR drawbacks.

Add on Fisheyes give you the effect, but they don't give you 180 degree capture which is really the point in using a fisheye to begin with. Effects can be photoshoped.

Thank you! The price is a bit over my budget, unfortunately. However, the images are awesome.

I did have my doubts as to the quality of these products.

Justintoxicated, your photos are truly awesome, but unfortunately for me I will have to wait and save & save & save for a fisheye ... here in Australia they retail at $1400.00 ... and considering that I just spent $1000.00 on the 14-54mm lens and a polarizing filter, and also taking into consideration that it was only a couple of months ago that I bought my Camera and all the other equipment I have, bringing my outlay for everything to a total of almost $4000.00, and I reckon if I were to mention another lens to my Husband .... I think he'd shoot me ... and I don't mean with a camera
