Share a photographic tip

Seeing as how there are so many different levels of photographers here, I thought that we might all learn something if from time to time we shared a tip or two that we have found to be helpful in our photography with the others. While doing so may be the most helpful to the "newbies" here, I'm sure that we all have things we can learn from each other. Who knows? I wouldn't be surprised if on occassion some of you newbies might even be able to teach some of us "old pros" a thing or two.

With this in mind, feel free to share anything you think will help somebody else with their photography. When possible, include a photograph or two which demonstrates the tip you are sharing.

I'll get us started. Here are two of my tips:

1) When photographing wildlife, especially insects, get down on their level for a more interesting perspective (see moth photo).

2) Always focus on the eyes. Even if you don't have enough depth of field to get all of your subject in focus, as long as the eyes are sharp your photo will be considered to be sharp (see spider photo).
