Coke Sign #3

I am thinking of going back and adding another element. Do you think it can stand on it's own or any suggestions what to add?

Very nice, Greg. I think it can work on it's own only because the composition, exposure, lighting, is right on. Also the sky was working in your favor. If you chose to go back and add something, perhaps a person or Coke bottle sitting on one of the steps it could help, but I like what I see now.

Greg - I think it needs a crop. I don't find the area around the Coke sign that special.. not sure if it's supposed to signify something (?) In general actually, it seems that this photo should signify something............ Not sure what though.

my first though was it needed someone walking down the steps.... but competely blurred, ghost like.... that would take some tricky lighting though.

i think i though that to help bring out the old style of the sign, and would be very interesting.

I like this a lot.
I'll also admit my imagingation runs wild with what you could do with a model.
Dylans is good but I think there are several places you could put a model. At the corner,
the light area under the stairs, in the doorway. My first thought was a lady in bright colored clothes coming down the stairs. Many times I wish I had someone to pose for me.

i would like to see a 90 degree (frontal) shot of the wall with the coke sign and the stairs.
crop: top: include the door, right: just before the wall edge (no background), left: half a metre left of the stair wall, bottom: include some of the grass.

Perhaps a little sharpening or extra contrast needed; the wall of the steps looks a bit soft but more importantly this type of shot and others like it is a valuable record of something that may well be gone one morning when you wake up and never to be seen again.

Thank everyone for the ideas. The blurring/ghostly person is a thought. Gary, I thought about a Coke Zero or an old bike. Easy to reshoot this one.

I'm thinking it needs better/warmer light and the extra saturation that comes with warmer light. I want the bricks, the old red paint and the green foliage to all be stronger. Or maybe shoot it in the snow.......

Thanks again MB, I layered the picture and desaturated everything but the Coke sign itself hoping to make it stand out some and create a mood to the shot. I will rethink the layering.

There are all kinds of ways you can make this more drammatic. But I like it as a documentation photo the way it is.

Hi Greg - I like this (as I've liked your previous coke offerings). I go with the majority here though that it needs another element, perhaps a person.
