Flower trio

With everything floral going nuts over summer there's too much to shoot (and not enough time).
Red Tulip - was after the gradation of colour...
Kangaroo Paw - these are so small and subtle...
Third shot - (don't know what it is but there's a dreamy quality to the colour and texture)..

Hi mooksool,

first off, i have to state that i aint a flower photo lover, but...

the first shot (red tulip) is a lovely photograph. the colour and tones are great, you certainly hit the nail on the head with the gradation! great capture. (perhaps cloning out the diagonal white line/ edge to the left of the pic would help even more, as it breaks up the colours a bit.) other than that i really like it.

As for the other two, they are very nice flower pictures, which doesn't do much for me personally, so i wouldn't like to delve into a critique on them. They are both good photographs, but with the third perhaps cropping out the flower that's peeping in at the top left of the frame would help balance the picture a bit more. It's a little distracting for me.

Other than that, great work, and as i said, i don't like flower photography, so i can't say much more on the technical side of things. I'll leave that to the experts!

I think all three are just lovely!! Which is really strange for me because normally if it's not oversaturated and contrasty, I'm not real keen on it. But the soft colors in these images work very well. on the first, I think you've done a wonderful job in capturing the abstract. I don't know how I feel about the shiny spots, but don't like the shot any less for it in the end.

The second one is very pretty, though I wish there were a little more to it. A "meatier" picture I guess.

The last is another great shot. I like the flower in the top left, because it bounces down to one of the buds, then to the flower then to another bud, keep continuity. ANd I really like how the buds encircle the flower itself. Nice capture.

I love all three images, mooksool. You have done very well on each of them. The first is really nicely done. I have a few like this one myself; very abstract with nice color. The other two are nice examples of macro/close-up photography. What set up did you use on those? I really like the 3rd one and how you framed the one flower with all the buds around it.
