    Great shot, good idea!

Since you stripped the exif I can't tell exactly how it was metered, but I'll assume tripod mounted - it looks like theres some ~ ISO 800 image grain, I would have bumped it down to ISO 100-200. The car headlights are distracting, I'd clone them out plus out of the water. I'd also crop up a bit to put the horizon on the thirds, not just to follow the rule - but the dark detail of the bottom is taking up a bit too much space for me.

I almost wish you had a ladder and got the shot from a much higher and angled down position, but then you wouldn't have as much of that magnificent sky, which you've managed in this shot very well.

yeah, this was tripod mounted. ISO 1600, actually. I couldn't put it down to ISO 200 without bumping up the shutter speed to above 30 seconds, which is generally where the star trails tend to appear, and in this image I didn't want trails.

I shot from a higher position with another image, and the reflection from the sky disappears once it gets to the weeds, so there's no outline of them. I also wanted to get the sky, like you said. Shooting very low was the only way to make the weeds stand out against the water. This is actually mounted upside down on my tripod, so that it was almost touching the ground.

Wow, I do like it also.

However the car headlights do take away a little for me also .

Not much to critique it is a great image. You might could have put a little more separation between the grass and the lake, a taller tripod. But that is only a nit pick. I think it is a wonderful shot.

I'll add my vote here as well; a very nice shot. I like that there's still a little light in the sky and the grasses in the foreground help to anchor the shot.

    thanks for the comments everyone...

I don't know if those are car lights or what, but I agree they are distracting. However, I kind of want to leave them in for some strange reason...

Greg, shooting from a higher vantage point made it so there wasn't really any seperation between the weeds and the water, because the light that was reflecting in the water from behind the weeds was the light higher in the sky that wasn't as bright... if that makes any sense. I definitely agree that I would have liked more seperation, but it wasn't happening without blowing out the lower sky to get the brighter upper sky.

    I really like it
specially the starts, and how they contrast to the more illuminated horizon
