High Elevation Lake/Reflection/Clouds

The first storm of the year rolled in for us yesterday and dropped the first snow flakes of the season. I am undecided on which picture to choose from so I wanted your opinion on these.

Personally, I'd say trees from the third, sky & water from the second. The first seems somewhat haphazard regarding coloration of the sky: the deep blue upper contradicts the warmth of the sunspot, and the green in the trees to the left contradicts the cloud cover above it.

I like the first one, but all are remarkabe. The elaborated color is the point the photos make.

I would vote for the third one with the saturation turned down some. This is it with a -40 saturation, Jeff

I really like #2 but feel like I'm falling to the left a bit. Makes me want to get my balance if that makes a sense. Beautiful work.

I was thinking exactly as jetrim was thinking. For this scene I set up a tri-pod and bracketed 9 shots every 10 minutes, +3 to -3, from about an hour to sunset until dark. Leaving me with a bunch of shots to choose from. I did this to see how a Dynamic Photo HDR would pull them together. I ended up using only +2 to -2. End result was good for most until I sent one to print, the most favorite from all, not only here but customers. Attachment 73207 If you look close you will see that the trees circled are duds. Reason being was carelessness on my part. I moved the tri-pod on a few different occasions and my finger must have brushed the lens at one point..BUMMER. So now its time to fix it in the Shop..Back to the drawing boards..Were spoiled with digital, and I'm not complaining.:mad2:

Grandpaw..I like what you did but its not as I saw it, The sky was glowing at that point, and I agree it is over saturated, just not that much. But I really appreciate the time you took to correct it. Thanks

jetwrnch..One of my traits I can't seem to shake. Almost all of my pics are tiltied to the right..not on purpose, just me. Funny thing is some people like that..???go figure. But thanks for the input, It is something I get all of the time. And I corrected these to straighten them..But yeah there crooked without a doubt.

Thanks again guys. With the weather turning to Fall/Winter I am going to need all the input I can on my photos. Good or bad its all taken for the positive here..Negative criticism to some is education to me :thumbsup:
