Nature's Fury

Re: Nature's Fury
Wow, I like the color of the beach in your first photo. What a contrast between the foreground and the background! Everything looks so peaceful and suddenly there is that lightning coming down from the sky. I just wish the lighting were showed up not to the side that much as it is now.

Thanks for looking AE. Yea, every time I moved to shoot somewhere else or in between shots there would be a perfect bolt of lightning where I was pointing my camera, go figure.

Inceredible shots!!!!! The first one is amazing! VERY well done!

Re: Nature's Fury
Thank you Mike and Lori. I have been waiting/trying for awhile to get shots of lightning and I am happy with the results as well.

Re: Nature's Fury
Crop out the bulb in #2 and its the winner for me as it really gives the wildness and power of nature and you can follow the lightning from the right through to it hitting the water.
Mind you I like them all - nice work.

Re: Nature's Fury
Nice work indeed... not much else to add.
If you don't mind, could you share your technique for capturing these?

Re: Nature's Fury
Some of the nicest lightning captures I've ever seen, great job.

Re: Nature's Fury
Thank you Roger, dumpy, and Scott.
Dumpy- What I did was used Bulb mode on my camera with a remote to open and close the shutter as I please. Each shot was around 15-20 second exposures. I counted seconds in between each bolt to try to get some sort of average down. Plus, a little bit of luck helps too, lol.

Re: Nature's Fury
Awesome shots! We don't really get chain lightning here in Eastern Canada so it's always cool to see pictures of it!
