Re: Another use for a loupe
Pretty cool shot. And love how sharp it is. Looks different if you you flip it vertical.
Re: Another use for a loupe
Thats awesome! Good and crisp too!
Re: Another use for a loupe
Where did you get that loupe? I made one out of a slide view but it isn't nat like that.
Re: Another use for a loupe
I don't really know what loupe is for, but cool pic!
Re: Another use for a loupe
Shooter, a loupe is a small but powerful magnifier, frequently used by jewelers.
Was it hard to focus on it, nps?
Re: Another use for a loupe
This works really well and in addition to the shot being so sharp, I particularly like how the viewer can see the building in the background, the different magnifications in this photograph are very effective, great stuff!
Re: Another use for a loupe
Hi,
This is a very intriguing idea. It is worth to explore more. Well done!

Re: Another use for a loupe
They sell loupes with low magnification to act as a hood for the LCD screen. HoodMan sells one for about $70 (plus about $30 for shipping). I made one--albeit primative-out of a cheap plastic slide viewer which costrs about $5.
Re: Another use for a loupe
This is a really neat shot. A view within a view. Good technical execution, I think it might be interesting to see how this looks rotated upside down so that the vision in the loupe is right side up.
Nice work!
Re: Another use for a loupe
Congrats on the sticky! Great shot
Re: Another use for a loupe
Just wanted to chime in and say I think this was very cleverly done. I especially like that I can glimpse the actual scale of the building in the background, but the entire thing in miniature is the scoop! Good thinking! I've tried similar with children's kaleidoscopes and that can be fun too.
Re: Another use for a loupe
Quite an interesting shot. Have mixed feelings how the building is upside down, but it really sharp and fascinating. Nice job,
GB
Re: Another use for a loupe
Holy cow, I haven't checked this site in a while, I'm flattered so many of you kind folks commented. Sincerely appreciated. Frog, it was a bit tricky to get a nice sharp focus on the intended plane, I shot about 20 pics, this was prolly the best composed. I'm just sort of fascinated with creating abstracted perceptions of space. The loupe itself is on the nice side, about 70 bucks or so? Glass, I actually dont really even use it for photos, it's used mostly for looking at dry points and etchings I do sometimes. Thanks again for all the feedback folks!:D
edit-Featured photo? Wow, thanks guys!
