    Fire & Ice
I was playing with the 100mm f/2.8 macro lens, and a tube this morning, before going out to sit in the blind. I think I used the 36mm tube on this one. It was hand held since the tripod was already in the blind.

Oh, I guess I forgot to mention that. This is some frost on the window of my front door. The orange spots are the sun, reflecting off the church windows up the street.

very nice indeed, very abstract looks almost like an evergreen tree. I love how the crystals are overlapping and the lighting on this shot. nothing bad about it

    That's COOL! Pun intended.

Beauty definitely hides in plain sight sometimes/often.

Mike, great capture. Just goes to show that good, creative images occur everywhere. You just need to watch for them.

WOW, thanks Mods for the featured photo!

Thanks WesterGuy, Knight, Ken, Roger, Frog, Loupey, Paul and Chris for taking the time to look and comment. I have been meaning to shoot frost on that window all winter but just never got around to it until this past weekend. I did take some shots of it last year too.

And if memory serves me right, the shot last year was with tubes as well....but with the 50mm f/1.8?

Since you used the 100mm macro and tubes on this one, just how small of an area did this scene cover?

Your memory serves you well my friend. Here is a link to the thread with my frost pics from last year.

This image is a slight crop. It's just a guess, but I'm going to say that what you see in the image was maybe 1/2" across. I will see if I can get some more shots this weekend, and note the actual size.
