    Hmmm.... Hard one, it doesn't quite work for me. I think to me your subjects face has too much intensity and strength in it for the calming blue colour. Dunno... I think it would look fine in B&W. Beautiful framing and I like the near pencile drawing frailty of the treatment.

    I posted a comment in the galleries, but I'll go ahead and do it again here..

    I think this is a successful photograph.
    I like the coloring! It creates a rather sensual mood.
    I think the pose works too.
    Burning in the hair, just a little might help.

    This is very different. I love it. Nice PS work! I wonder if you could elaborate on the PS work. I am very interested in the style.

    This is a very beautiful picture that stands out from the bunch. A nice high key feel. The higher contrast around the eyes and mouth really make them grab the attention. The colorization is well done.

    I meant to come back and comment on this after viewing it when it first appeared but the onslaught of posts moved it past my attention quickly...sorry.

    Thanks for the positive comments and critique from all.

    Doc I tried a version in b&w and liked it..... but the comp calls for "moody blue" so had to go with the blue. I think the intensity of the eyes are a little too much but other than that I am pleased witht he result.

    I was having a little computer trouble so did not get back and missed my image as a featured photo - darn :mad:

    Lara here is the original only little USM applied

    I was trying my 100mm macro for portraits and had my white balance set to shade hence the colour cast. Anyway here are the post processing steps I used on this image to get Indgo Girl....(this time I wrote the process down :) )

    * cloned out unwanted background
    * selected colour of blue #325296
    * applied a gradient map
    * saturated to +60
    * dodged & burned the eyes
    * erase some shadow on chin area at 4% opacity
    *applied USM 60/2/0

    Hope that helps :) :)

    Cheers
