    Warming

Just a quick post for Dray to show how adding a warming filter to an image of a model can improve the shot. I used Corel PhotoPaint, but PS have many camera filters.

If one really wants to be precise, you mask the model, feather it a little, and only apply the filter to her. I didn't do that is this shot, so the background tinted a bit too, but it doesn't look too bad.......

for the photoshop users you can either use the colour balance or apply photo filter. photoshop has several filters that replicate the effects of such filters as the sepia filter and tungsten filter. If you aren't familiar with warming filters the kodak number for them (based on the really old kodak gellatin filters) is 81 with the suffice of A-C depending on how strong the filter is. In photoshop you can manually set the density of the filter giving more control than you would have if you used the original filter. Anyone want to buy my old filters?

Actually the same is true of PSP X2 - it's located under effects>photo effects>film and filters, and there are a bunch besides warming. In older versions of PSP you can achieve the same thing by going to colors>adjust>color balance and setting the sliders to RED +24/ Majenta 0/Yellow+12 on midtones and half those values on highlights.

here's the same image with the X2 automatic filter applied (no other adjustments)
