A Replacement for the Archive Creator S/W?
We just acquired a new Vista machine, so I was searching out an upgrade for the Archive Creator package, which I use to burn DVDs of my various big (wedding) jobs. The s/w sizes backups, spans DVD disks, has an integrated disk burner, and creates an HTML index for each archive, with easy to view thumbnails.
Now I learn that Archive Creator has been discontinued.
Is there another package that does the same thing? A web search proved fruitless. As far as I know, neither PS nor LR has this capability.
Thanks,
-Paul

Does the software not work, or are you looking for an upgrade just because you're using Vista ?
I don't know of anything else that does the HTML index with thumbnails.
I've decided not to use Vista, our company has decided not to use Vista.
Like drugs, I think friends shouldn't let friends do Vista :(

I have Vista at home and it will slowly drive you insane  . Take it from me; stick with XP.

My machine came with a Vista licence, but XP downgrade factory installed by HP.
Re: A Replacement for the Archive Creator S/W?
Thank you, guys.
I'm actually looking forward to running PS CS3 on the new Dell Vista machine--it's an XPS 730x "gaming" system that could only be obtained with Vista (I did a clean install of Ultimate-64 and left their Home version alone). Mine has 6GB RAM and four disks, three of which I added (with its stock 1,000w. power supply). Two of those are the Velocoraptor screamers--one for the OS and one for apps. It's a quad core box and looks quite performant.
I'm a bit ashamed to say I haven't actually tried to load Archive Creator onto this box. The website speaks of it as XP-compatible only and it looks like Michael Tapes was working on a Vista-compatible Version 4 just before he discontinued the product.
Is it unique then?

Re: A Replacement for the Archive Creator S/W?
Actually it appears that the "final" version of the s/w, still available from the author at his website for free download, runs on my Vista Ultimate-64 bit machine. I believe I'm having some MS problems (Autorun is disabled on my system), so I can't give it a full test, but it seems to be working.
Re: A Replacement for the Archive Creator S/W?
Autorun disabled is a good thing, the Conficker virus spreads that way.
As a first step, disabling autorun slows down infection.
